2007 TEAM COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS
Team Format
- A team roster may consist of up to 30 riders.
- A team roster must consist of a minimum of 4 riders. All NBL licensed riders are eligible to participate in team competition. (Rookie, Novice, Expert, Cruiser, Girls, and Elite’s) a 5th rider may be used as an alternate.
- Each team is encouraged to have a minimum of (2) girl, (2) rookie and (2) cruiser.
- Complete team rosters are to be submitted prior to the 5th Qualifier dated July 15, 2007.
- No addition/changes to the team roster after the roster have been submitted at any qualifier /championship.
- NO RIDER may be listed on more than one team roster. Riders may NOT switch teams during the series. A rider may leave a team, but may not join another team or rejoin the old team for the rest of the series. If a rider leaves a team, the manager must notify the State Commissioner in writing, outlying the reason for the riders leaving.
- Uniforms are optional; however the team MUST be identified with an identifiable team shirt.
- All team riders must sign a letter of commitment. All letters must accompany the team roster handed into the state commissioner. If any riders’ letter is not turned in by July 15th, 2007 before the start of the race, he or she will not be considered part of the team for the 2007 season. It is the responsibilities of the team managers to be sure all letters accompany the team roster and turned in prior to the Fifth Qualifier. Fifth qualifier will be in Rotterdam NY at the Tri-City BMX complex on July 15th, 2007
Team Entry
- Team entries must consist of a minimum of 4 team members who are registered to race that day. These riders will be referred to as a scoring foursome. No team may enter more than 4 scouring foursomes. A 5th rider may be added to the scoring foursome as an alternate. If the alternates’ points are better than a rider in the foursome, the alternate points may be used in place of that rider. All alternate’s MUST be on the team roster, they may NOT be used in any other foursome and can only be used as an alternate on 1 scoring foursome.
- A rider can only be entered in class or cruiser on 1 foursome. He/she cannot be listed in the same class on another foursome. A foursome shall not have more than (2) girl, (2) rookie and (2) cruiser. Otherwise, the foursome may be submitted in any other combination.
- An entry fee of $10.00 ($15>00 at the State Championship race) per team must accompany the team entry sheets. If a team manager elects to field more than 1 scoring foursome, an additional charge of $5.00 per foursome is required. Team entries and completed team sheets for each scoring foursome must be turned into the referee prior to the first gate drop. Team managers must keep score for each rider of each foursome entered. Complete scoresheets must be turned in to the referee within 15 minutes after final finishes are posted.
- Only a team’s top scoring foursome will be counted for the series point’s accumulation.
- A manager may view any team sheet after all team sheets have been submitted.
- If any rider in a foursome is disqualified for any reason, the foursome points will be forfeited.
- There will be no reclassified riders allowed on team sheets or part of a team sheet prior to the submission of the final roster. July 15th 2007 (Note: The state will follow the NBL rule Chapter 14 section G)
Team Scoring:
- Team points will be awarded only at qualifiers and the championship event.
- A team must enter a minimum of 6 qualifiers to gain eligibility to participate at the championship event.
- A team must enter a minimum of 6 qualifiers plus the championship event to be eligible for the overall Team Championship Award.
- Only team’s best 6 finishes at qualifiers plus the championship event will be counted for the overall Team Championship Award.
All qualifiers will be run as a team race day. Anyone who wishes to enter a team may do so prior to the 5th qualifier, dated July 15th, 2007 located at Tri-City BMX.
Team Competition Scoring:
- 1st in moto = 50 points
- 2nd in moto = 45 points
- 3rd in moto = 40 points
- 4th in moto = 35 points
- 5th in moto = 30 points
- 6th in moto = 25 points
Team Award:
- There will be a money payback for each qualifier; each payback will be at the next scheduled Qualifier. The money payback will be the entire race fees collected at each qualifier the top three teams will be awarded the money of the day. A matching state fund for each qualifier will be divided up and awarded to the top teams at the championship. Only teams that complete and comply with all the team rules throughout the season will be eligible for an award. (Note: Any deviation of the rules will disqualify a team from receiving a reward)
- The overall team champion will receive the New York State Championship Cup. Name of the team and team members will be engraved on it at the state expense. The championship team will also have exclusive rights to the title “EMPIRE BMX CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM” and may use those rights for advertising or in any other manner is deems advantageous.
Tie Breakers:
- The first tie breaker at the championship will be the team with the best over all alternate for the championship race
- If a tie still remains then the team with the best overall alternate accumulated score for the teams best 6 qualifier’s will be determine the over all team winner for the 2007 team series.
